Lofty Inspiration
It all began with the desire to design an original timepiece which was fun and different. On his return from New York, the brand’s founder Pierre Dubois wanted to add a watch to his collection, one that would pay tribute to these architectural wonders.
As progress was being made in the research into retrograde displays – which would culminate in the Royal Rétro – he began to pull together ideas for a resolutely contemporary design to complement the qualities of the great complication.
Avant-Garde Retrograde Model
In an unprecedented pairing, the calibre and dial of the GrandCliff Skyscrapers were going to defy the laws of gravity. With two concentric retrograde counters set off-centre and a small seconds hand, its exclusive movement is resolutely contemporary.
Brand new surface treatments for the dial and exceptionally large hour markers celebrate the ingenuity of the avant-garde design with urban accents: the time spots stand tall like skyscrapers and the hands mirror the outline of the Empire State Building.
