SECOND TIME ZONE - GMT

The GMT is used for watches which have an additional time-zone dial showing the exact time of a city in another time zone, which doesn’t necessarily need to be Greenwich Mean Time.

POWER RESERVE INDICATOR

A useful add-on for all manual or automatic winding watches, the power reserve indicator shows how long the watch will continue to work without being wound up.

CALENDAR, LARGE DATE, SMALL DATE, MEDIUM DATE

Watches with a simple calendar show the date but do not adjust automatically to take account of the number of days in a month.

They require to be manually adjusted five times a year.

Simple annual calendar which automatically adjusts according to the number of days in a month, with the exception of February and leap years.

CHRONOGRAPH WITH 60 MINUTE COUNTER

A mechanical chronograph with analogue display (hour, minute and second hands) can measure a specific period of time.

Measured time is generally displayed by a “chronograph” second hand in the centre of the dial, a minute hand (and a separate counter) and an hour hand (and separate counter).

Measured time is read by combining three readings located in three different places.

CHRONOGRAPH WITH FLYBACK FUNCTION

The flyback function allows you to relaunch the stopwatch when it is already in operation by simply pressing the re-set button (generally at 4 o’clock). There is no need to press the first button (at 2 o’clock) first to stop the hands.

RENDEZVOUS FUNCTION WITH A 2-GONG MECHANISM

The RendezVous (appointments) function is an alarm with a beautiful chime; it’s not designed to wake you up. The mechanism takes its inspiration from the prestigious minute repeater watches; two hammers hit two different-sized superimposed gongs simultaneously, emitting a gentle sound which alternates between high and low. They are cathedral gongs, i.e. each one turns more than 360°. The shorter hammer emits a high sound and the longer hammer a low sound. The latter is visible on the dial.
